Living Scriptures – More than animated videos
Living Scriptures is more than animated videos now. I remember when Living Scriptures first began. One of our first purchases after we married was their dramatized audio tapes. When Living Scriptures came out with their animated Book of Mormon stories we were delighted and signed up right away. Each month we’d receive a new Book of Mormon VHS from Living Scriptures right off the presses. Orson Scott Card wrote most of the stories and James Rich was the chief animator. (He’s the man who animated “The Swan Princess.”) They were wonderful and still are.
Living Scriptures Book of Mormon Animated Videos
When Living Scriptures finished the Book of Mormon animated videos, I remember wondering what would come next. That’s when we began receiving the Bible story videos. At that time you could only buy the the Living Scriptures animated stories from sales people that came to your home. Their business model maximized profits while bringing these fabulous videos and other products (like coloring books) to Mormon families at a reasonable cost. I bought all the Living Scripture products available at the time and though we watched them over and over, never realized how the Living Scriptures product line has expanded lately. Boy, was I in for a shocker!
The LDS Book industry and Living Scriptures
First, I found out that Living Scriptures has joined the LDS book industry and is now available at Deseret Book Stores. You can also by the animated stories online. Then I found out how much the Living Scriptures product line has expanded from the days of animated Bible Story Videos and Book of Mormon VHS tapes. Now everything is available on CD, and the Living Scriptures animated two hero classics series that include animated stories of the founding fathers, Abraham Lincoln, and Joan of Arc and other patriotic heroes. But Living Scriptures didn’t stop there. They have incredible docudramas of the modern prophet hero series, which include both live action reenactments and actual footage of the Mormon prophets hero if available in their videos. Living scriptures prophets hero classics also have shots of the actual documents and photos of each modern prophet creating a movie forum that will help your children realize that modern Mormon prophets are heroes.

A Look Back at Living Scriptures
When I think back on the beginning of the Living Scriptures, I wonder if Orson Scott Card and Richard James Rich had any idea what they were beginning. Imagine owning a full movie forum of Mormon Scripture and History, and American History through the Living Scripture Bible story videos and other scriptures stories Living Scriptures animated, then the hero classics, animated stories of patriotic heroes throughout American history.
